Services

Jess has extensive experience in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy, specialising in dying, death, bereavement and grief. She is dedicated to supporting people to generate their own sense of meaning and purpose here in the gloriously complex experience that is existence. Her highly empathetic and compassionate disposition, coupled with her perceptive and deep listening skills, means she can support each person to develop greater self-awareness and insight. Each person has the potential to move away from self-alienation towards meaningful self-connection.

Some notes about grief:

"Bringing grief and death out of the shadow is our spiritual responsibility, our sacred duty."

- Francis Weller, The Wild Edge of Sorrow, p. xviii.

"Grief work is soul work."

- Francis Weller, The Wild Edge of Sorrow, p. 7.

Grief is the natural human response to loss. It happens when someone or something we are attached to is gone. Grief can happen in response to many situations: the death of a loved one, the end of an important relationship, life-changing illness, a significant life change such as a job loss, the death of a pet, relocating or children leaving home. When experiencing grief, it is common to feel disconnected from oneself and from the world around you. This is where support from a specialist counsellor and psychotherapist can help.

Jess’s counselling and psychotherapy sessions are held in person (in Bowral and Bundanoon) or online. To make an appointment, contact her via mobile 0422 849 041 or email thehearthlands@gmail.com - Jess looks forward to working with you!
